I was going to say that, given Jack's pacifist nature, he would disagree -- EXCEPT the question was whether STONEY would agree. Two different men. Yet, Stoney was called upon to bring peace to disagreements. So, maybe, just maybe, he would disagree, too! Interesting question when we get down to it.
Not in conflict as to right or wrong, but as to preference of activities. Jack rode horses, but he did not engage in rodeo-type riding (as far as we know). Stoney was known to draw pictures, as he did in "Web of Fear" (see screen captures above), but chances are none of his works appeared in art galleries or museums.
Hmmm. I think back in the day he probably would have. But now, considering what we know of the painful measures that are taken to "have fun" on those horses, I think not.
Interesting. Given Stoney's profession, I'd say that he would agree. Maybe this is related to "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." Might as well have fun, whatever it is that one does.
Both screen captures are from Stoney Burke: Web of Fear. Daystar Productions / ABC-TV, 1963.
