The US Navy's hospital ship Mercy earned a few demerits a few years ago, when it was pushed by a tug into the Arizona Memorial. Let us not blame the Mercy, however. She is a very good ship with a very important mission. This year's special mission is cataract removal for people living in Pacific Rim nations who otherwise would not have access to such care. The Mercy currently is at Pearl Harbor, preparing for the mission.
