Another comment...horse dander and stock footage. Did you know that the view of the microscope slide containing the horse dander was also used in other episodes? I believe that it was used at least two more times. In one of those episodes, Che says that the image is rope fiber.
I liked the bit of humor when Che explains that the horse was a roan and Ben chimes in with "How many teeth does it have?" He was joking, but this shows how much the Five-O team values Che's vast knowledge and skill.
Here's a coincidence...I watched "Journey Out of Limbo" this morning. Then, this afternoon, I watched the Fred Astaire movie "Royal Wedding," also staring a much younger Keenan Wynn.
if you’re a fan of classic TV, you’re well familiar with Keenan Wynn. He pops up on many a show and was a fixture in “old Hollywood”. his dual role in Royal Wedding is one of my favorites.
I love this episode. Always have. From the attention-getting opening, to the clever conclusion, there's just something about it that's held up for me on many rewatchings, despite some shortcomings.
As H50 1.0 FOREVER mentioned, the use of stock footage from other episodes is heavy in this one. I also recognized the footage of the ambulance pulling up to pick up the injured Steve from "Force of Waves" in the ambulance scene. They really cobbled that one together!
It's also a little grating how Danny's concussion is treated in this by all concerned (the doctor whipping his head back and forth during examination - but after all, he's used to working with dead people 😂 , Steve telling him to…
I have seen this episode many times as it is one of my favorites. Ben is certainly a full-fledged member of the Five-O team in this one. It is Ben who learns first of Danny being dumped at the construction site because he is the one who handles the emergency. He contacts Steve to break the news (that had to be a difficult phone call!), he is already at the hospital when the ambulance arrives and he remains with Steve while they await word on Danny’s condition.
Ben also takes Danny back to the riding academy to try to jar his memory. As H5O already mentioned, Ben finds a lot of the evidence the leads them to the dead mar…
Thank you for that information. It makes sense now, and I'll have to listen carefully the next time I watch this. I do think the shirt that Che has in the lab is the light blue and white striped shirt that Danny was wearing on horseback. But I'll look for that again. I really liked the blue and green aloha shirt Dan wore when he was released from the hospital. I've seen other characters on the show wear that shirt, too, on occasion. It must have been in the wardrobe trailer, LOL!
Like you said,H50,this episode shows that Ben is already a "full fledged" member of the Five-0 team.
And it shows that he rather likes to take action than "discussing". He kicks the door of the bunker open instead of joining the team's discussion what possibilities there are.
