Lady Columbia

How many times did we see Lady Columbia on H50? Well, since there were 284 episodes, we can safely say that we saw her that many times. Of course, multiple episodes were shot at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, locally known as Punchbowl Cemetery, it is quite possible that we saw her even more times.

Lady Columbia is also known as Lady Liberty or Lady Justice. She represents the grieving mothers of those lost at war. Her statue shows her standing on the bow of a ship with a laurel branch in her hand.

Behind Lady Columbia is a small chapel, where funeral services can be held. Columbarium burial vaults are located on either side of the steps leading up to the Lady. It is a very solemn place to visit.

We saw her at the opening of each episode. She also appears in "Cocoon." I think I have some old photos of her from my trip in 1975.

Thank you for the informations on Lady Columbia and the photo,H50. I never realized that she is standing on the bow of a ship.

The photo I took doesn't show her in full so I didn't realize that (and in the Five-0 episodes I didn't realize it either, obviously).

Neither did I, Steve's Girl, until I did some research.
